The Halloween Hellraiser will be at the New Design High School in LES, NYC this Saturday, November 1. $3000 in cash is on hand for Best Trick, while $100 will be awarded for best-costume.

Kris Markovich- Famous For nothing art show

SK8OLOGY Skate Art Show and Auction

On Saturday August 23 the ISM Gallery (in Long Beach) will host the opening exhibition of SK8OLOGY, showcasing over 150 creative deck canvases from some awesome artists and professional skaters.

The show will then travel to San Diego September 4-6 for the Action Sports Retailer (ASR) Trade Show and then off to Florida September 12-14 for the Surf Expo.

Contributing artists and professional skaters are donating their creative deck canvases to raise awareness and resources in an effort to support Now That You Know, a non-profit organization that helps to provide ambitious girls from developing countries a secure environment for learning and growth. Proceeds will also contribute to benefiting the youth of our society through the artistic enrichment of our community.

P-Rod and Pierre-Luc get Big Pay Day at the Maloof Money Cup

The Maloof Money Cup wrapped yesterday and paid out the biggest purse in Skateboard history. Paul Rodriguez won the street comp and wins $100,000. Pierre-Luc Gagnon won the Vert comp and takes home $75,000.

The biggest payday in skateboarding history came Sunday night when Paul Rodriguez, the son of the comedian of the same name, won the street competition and $100,000. He beat 13-year-old Nyjah Huston, who earned $40,000, plus another $5,000 for best trick. Others competing in street included Ryan Sheckler and Jake Duncombe. Rob Dyrdek, star of MTV’s “Rob and Big,” had been entered in the street competition but gave up his spot to another skater.

Chris Nieratko of Big Brother fame was here in Austin last night promoting his new book Skinema. Chris setup at Heather Roach’s (also of Big Brother fame) shop called LowBrow Emporium. Lowbrow is a cross between a Art, book, toy and skate shop. It’s a interesting store and if you’re in Austin it’s a must to check out. By the way, Chris will be at the Skatepark Of Austin tonight at 7pm.
